Mikazuki thought similarly, if you'd believe it—perhaps that means there are some similarities after all... However, such gemstones do not come to life on their own, but rather, an arcanist would need to imbue the stone with their own aether in order to pull forth the life from within.

They do serve a purpose, however. Though some may view their carbuncles as companions, I have created mine to assist me in battle.

[It's a trade-off of equal measure since Souji butchers every single non-Japanese name he comes across... There's a little hint of amusement in his expression at that, though.]

I believe warrior is something of a strong word, here... I would prefer not to fight, should it be unnecessary. However, I am a mage, and 'tis my magicks that I wield when I have no other choice.

I can imagine so! But yes, we have nothing like that, really... The closest thing that I can think of is Saitou-san's vision. He's very attuned to the presence of spirits, and can read the record of death.

... Mayhap so! It is my understanding that such worlds rely more on technological advancements, however.

Oh... Most likely, yes! My time is quite before many of these advancements, but I've learned a lot about them. Things like electricity and cars and the like.

So even before then... Well, there's certainly a lot to learn from those around you, then. Even now I oft find myself surprised by what I hear.

For a while, it honestly felt as though I was learning something new every day! But I find myself in a similar position quite often, even though so much time has gone by... Some things truly sound like magic, even though they're technology.
