... Mind you another interruption? I'm sure you've had many by now.

[Here they are in the isolation cabin. Sieghart is seated on the lower bunk of the bed, facing the bars: He's been expecting visitors.]

I can't mind anyone in search of answers. What do you want to know?

[sageguidance]

[ Or that! That works too. waves hands. ]

That is quite agreeable of you, Sieghart. This isn't the manner in which I had hoped to speak with you again, but...

I suppose we should get down to the matter. Were you compelled into your actions, or were this a conscious choice?

[ercnerd]

[He glances aside, briefly.]

I said that I won't make excuses, so I'll say that it was a little bit of both.

A shadow approached me with the promise of Mari's safety. Regardless of my intentions, I ended up housing it for the week . . . and lost control of myself when I saw Flayn that night.

[sageguidance]

—A shadow.

[ ... ]

So, not too different from our previous experiences, but not quite the same, either.

Week 3: Monday

[ercnerd]

[Oblivious to the week's effect, Sieghart casually strolls up to Alphinaud outside of the mansion.]

I wasn't expecting to find you out here.

[In retrospect, it isn't that surprising. One can only stay cooped inside for so long.]

[sageguidance]

[ He is indeed out here, seated on the lawn! Today is apparently casual Monday, because he's in something other than his jrpg bullshit today (it needs to hit the laundry, anyway), and his hair is in a loose ponytail rather than its usual braid. He's working on a cup of tea, but when he looks over his shoulder toward Sieghart... Alphinaud looks heckin' exhausted. It's a mystery if he's slept much at all. ]

Good morning, Sieghart. I thought I could use for some air.

[ He might also spot a carbuncle sniffing at random flowers in the garden. ]

[ercnerd]

It's not good to stay indoors all day.

[Nodding, Sieghart drops down to sit cross-legged nearby. He cranes his neck toward Carbuncle. There really are lifeforms of all types out there.]

[sageguidance]

It was a little stuffy inside. [ He sips at his tea. ] Or... that may just be me.

[ carby is out here just havin' a good time. maybe eating a flower petal. ]

[ercnerd]

[Don't eat anything poisonous.]

No, you're right. Not only is it stuffy, it's old. The only reason it's as clean as it is now is because of Souji.

[Sieghart is shamelessly quick to admit that he has done nothing for the upkeep of the mansion.]

w3; sunday

[sageguidance]

[ Compared to just a few hours prior, Alphinaud both looks and feels better; between the healing, a decent bath, and a fresh set of clothing, one could almost think nothing had ever happened.

Almost. The light scarring around his eye is still there to see, but he goes about his business as normal. Currently, he's in the kitchen preparing some tea. His carbuncle, meanwhile, sprawls lazily across the floor. ]

[ercnerd]

[By now, Sieghart has a sense of what went down. When he spots Alphinaud and the carbuncle in the kitchen, he's quick to raise a hand in greeting.]

Yo. How are you feeling?

[sageguidance]

—Hm?

[ He looks up from the kettle on the stove. ]

Oh, good eve. Much better now that I've had time to clean up—and thanks to Virgo, as well.

[ercnerd]

[He nods. Virgo has a way of coming through when it matters.]

How's your eye? . . . Can you see out of it?

[sageguidance]

Miraculously, yes.

[ Given what happened to it... Alphinaud tries not to think about it. ]

'Tis sore, at worst. It will be necessary to put off reading for a few days, it seems.

w7; monday

[sageguidance]

[ Alphinaud is passing through the parlor, carbuncle trailing behind, when he suddenly stops and pauses, seeming—off? ]

[ercnerd]

[Even with his eyes closed, it's not hard to miss irregular movement. Sieghart opens his eyes and cranes his neck in Alphinaud's direction.]

Something wrong?

[sageguidance]

[ ... ]

I wonder. I cannot seem able to shake off this uneasiness.

[ercnerd]

What do you normally do when you're feeling uneasy?

[sageguidance]

[ pace around nervously, but he won't say that. ]

'Tis a good distraction to delve into some work in those cases, but I've little of that here. I suppose... some reading and tea, but already have I spent the morning doing so...

w7; saturday

[sageguidance]

[ It's late; they returned, everyone reunited, party games happened while we were ooc busy (cries), and most are probably winding down for the night.

And that's why Sieghart is suddenly getting a blanket tossed over him as he dozes off by the fireplace. ]

[ercnerd]

[Sieghart stirs, eyes opening at the weight over his body.]

What's this . . . ?

[sageguidance]

Come now, 'tis obvious. You'll be more comfortable with it.

[ercnerd]

. . . Heh. Thanks. Are you sleeping by the fire as well?

[sageguidance]

I may very well do so. 'Tis far more cozier over on this side of the lobby, I think.
