[nodding at that]

This form that appears human-like. So much so that it appears as though many of you question it very little.

Ha ha ha. I am glad to hear that they are still effective.

But there is little point in disguising ourselves amongst others who possess such a variety of backgrounds and attributes. I believe that eventually, it may be revealed that we are swords.

[nodding easily at that - and alphinaud's curiosity will only be met with mikazuki's own even gaze. there's a little bit of a crescent moon theme, right down to the fact that this eyes seem to hold slivers of yellow in the same shape]

Precisely that.

Ha ha ha... Then I take it that the notion of tsukumogami is not common in your realm.

There is a belief that emotions might influence objects so strong that they themselves receive a soul, or perhaps if they reach something akin to one hundred years of age, then they will gain sentience. That is something like what happens to us.

It is entirely possible that gemstones may possess sentience - after all, such minerals can be some of the oldest items on this earth, or the most revered by people.

You will have to let me know if the mystical arts or science progress enough to allow you to find your answers.

[he cants his head to the side]

Oh? Your sword spirits may be able to find themselves manifesting at as low as one hundred years... though I suppose if warriors of your era are particularly rough with their swords, they can be difficult.

[he laughs faintly at that]

Perhaps not the 'vast majority' - but that is what makes relics so captivating to public interest, wouldn't you say? A sword that survived countless battles, that might still be preserved.

Swords kept in shrines, receiving the prayers of those who come to visit it. Swords forged by the order of royals, for their personal collections.

Such blades exist as well. Each possess their own story.
