[Wow we're suckers, we went through a door and here we are in:
6. You open the door and find yourself in the middle of a city. The sky is dark, with a myriad of familiar and unfamiliar constellations dotting it; the city is full of shadowy, faceless figures, though many of them bear a striking resemblance in silhouette and mannerisms to people you know. Perhaps more concerning, though, is the small hole that seems to be opening up underfoot; it engulfs small objects, becomes bigger, and moves on to engulf larger ones. Try not to get dragged in. Should you manage to navigate the city and run into the revolving doors over which a sign reading "STARLIGHT HOTEL" hangs, you will find yourself in the hallway again, out of breath but otherwise unharmed. Should you be swallowed up by the hole, however, you will find yourself falling into an endless void for what feels like an eternity, before landing hard in the hallway, the screams of the shadowy people you almost-recognized in the city filling your ears for the next half hour. Only four minutes have passed. ]
Oh... it's one of those... [She probably should have known this would be one of those random-door-rooms.]
This doesn't seem so bad, though... [She gazes up at the night sky and the tall buildings of the city.]

I've never seen a city like this before... I think it's even bigger than the capital.

Aye... 'Tis beautiful, is it not? Rarely ever do I see the stars with such clarity.
I recognize some of these constellations, but... it's strange. There are a lot of stars that I'm sure I've never seen before, too...
You recognize some that easily? Do you like to study constellations, Estelle?
Yes. Stars have a lot of cultural significance where I'm from, and... besides, they're something I could both read about and observe directly without leaving the castle.

It's hard to pinpoint a single answer... People in the past used to believe the stars and the moon were gods and goddesses, and formed their traditions around that. Most of those belief systems have faded into obscurity, but the traditions of that age have echoed all the way into the present.
And personally, I just really like some of those old legends...

Yes... we were at a school. We didn't get to spend much time in class, though, because we had to, um... go fight demons.

It was certainly terrifying... But we had powers to help us dispatch them.

... That is not so unusual—to have been manipulated in such a way, that is. Though, if it was to your benefit, then it is a surprisingly helpful one.
If we suppose that everything we do here is for "entertainment," then I imagine it would be like handing us the appropriate equipment before a sporting event...
