[here we are in the prism! at the (throws dart) petting zoo. emet-selch doesn't look super enthused to be here, but he's staying regardless, as a tiny neon sheep tugs at his robes.]

[ And here comes Alphinaud stumbling in. He looks around, a little surprised. ]

Is this—a farm?

[ktiseos]

A zoo, I understand it is called.

[he says, slightly disgruntled, as he nudges the sheep away from him.]

I cannot say I am terribly fond of it.

[sageguidance]

[ poor little neon sheep... its bitty 'baa' is very cute, though. ]

Are they supposed to be that color?

[ktiseos]

So they are. It seems their wool has grown back in the same patterns...

[sageguidance]

[ he does a thinky, briefly, then: ]

Your words imply this isn't the first you've seen of this place. Is that correct?

[ktiseos]

This is the Prism, yes. I have only spent enough time here to harvest their fleece, however, as they are needier than I would like.

[the sheep nudges at him with another tiny baa.]

[sageguidance]

Oh? Whatever would you need their fleece for?

[ did emet-selch level weaver?! ]

[ktiseos]

It was necessary to resort to... desperate measures, in the absence of the mask of my station. It took me some time to acclimate to leaving my face bare, and thus in the meantime...

[a gesture to the neon sheep and their technicolor wool.]

[sageguidance]

[ There's a small twitch at the corners of his mouth, as if this were somehow an amusing statement. (it is.) ]

And all you had was wool? Truly, I cannot imagine that would be terribly comfortable in the long run!

[ktiseos]

Well, it needed only to cover half my face, so I suppose it was not as terrible as it could have been... but these sheep do not come in red.

The closest I was able to acquire was pink.

[sageguidance]

[ pfft ]

I take it, then, there were naught to dye the wool with.

[ktiseos]

[so, so tiredly:]

There were not.

It ended up pink with a bit of neon blue, in the end.

[sageguidance]

Now, now. 'Tis good to change up our looks every once in a while.

[ktiseos]

I would have preferred something less utterly ridiculous, but I suppose it served its purpose.

It was, if nothing else, motivation to acclimate to going maskless.

[sageguidance]

[ humor aside— ]

'Tis rare to see one go without a mask whence you hail?

[ktiseos]

So it is. All of our people wear them, except under special circumstances-- when visiting certain testing facilities, for example. The employees may leave theirs in place, but those unfamiliar with the facility must remove their mask.

[sageguidance]

I can see how you must have felt you were quite bare, in that case. Mayhap it is of some comfort to know that none currently around you would think twice of it.

[ktiseos]

I was informed of it back then, as well, but... 'tis quite difficult to break such a habit. It is what is considered proper, within Amaurot.

[sageguidance]

Aye—and I would not insist you feel otherwise. 'Tis the fault of our... ahem, gracious hosts that would not allow even that small of a comfort.

[ktiseos]

Well. I shall not work with wool again, that is certain, but mayhap there will be a better form of replacement to be found.

[sageguidance]

Hm... Today there opened up a—costume closet, 'tis called, back in the hotel. While the name scarcely sounds appealing, there is a chance you may find a suitable substitute within.

[ktiseos]

Is there-? I have not yet explored it, but mayhap I shall.

If there is naught to be found, however, at least I am accustomed to this by now.

[sageguidance]

Either way, no more wool, I hope. Not unless there is a weaver around to make it presentable...
