[ 13. You open the door and immediately pitch forward and fall through it. There is no floor here. There are no ceilings. There are no walls. You are floating aimlessly in the void with far-off constellations twinkling all around you. You feel as though you are everywhere and nowhere, all at once. Occasionally, you see the space around you shift - the sky ripples or pulls apart, as if the very fabric of the universe is being manipulated. After an indeterminate amount of time, you hear a low chuckle, and suddenly find yourself collapsed on the ground in the hall, disoriented. Only four minutes have passed.
this sounded fun for two nerds
but mikazuki will step through the door, fall through, and - he laughs? oh he just laughs]
Ah, it would be nice if such a thing were so simple.
[the sky shifts then - as if the fabric of the universe itself is bending, crumpling, and mikazuki watches it with the same curiosity as a fireworks show]

—Waugh!
[ He falls! But... never hits ground? They're just floating. ]
Wha... What manner of trickery is this?
no subject
Fufu... Perhaps we have gone to space?
[he's upside down now]
How are you feeling, Alphinaud Leveilleur? No injuries or ailments?
no subject
[ He tries to turn to get himself upright. ]
... Otherwise fine. Are we floating...?
no subject
[and he tilts his head, admiring the stars and the distant constellations]
... to be startled is well enough. After all, it appears as though we have been invited to peer into the universe itself.
no subject
Lovely as the view is, I do hope we have not gotten ourselves hopelessly lost.

Shall we swim to the nearest constellation?

[he just starts to... slowly stroke his arms to try to propel him toward a set of stars
it doesn't work]
no subject
Or in Alphinaud's case, get a little nervous. ]
We... we cannot possibly be trapped in here, could we?
no subject
[jiji: they are just waiting to make something even worse happen to us]
This situation is meant to inspire feelings of discomfort, I imagine.
no subject
If that is so, they may consider themselves appeased, and I wish for a swift return upon solid grounds!
no subject
[the sky shifts then - as if the fabric of the universe itself is bending, crumpling, and mikazuki watches it with the same curiosity as a fireworks show]
I wonder what that is...

Even though—this is yet more trickery from this place, I wager. This could not possibly be the universe true.

[stop with the riddles, old man,]
But I suppose it would be simpler to think it false.

[ and just walking through a door into space is not it. ]
